About Us

Jafariyah Community Centre was established to serve as a hub for Shia Muslims in Stoke-on-Trent. Our mission is to provide a spiritual, cultural, and educational space for all members of our community, fostering growth, unity, and piety.

The inspiration for this centre arose from a deeply moving incident in our community’s history. Years ago, when a beloved member of the Shia community passed away, there were no local services available to perform their Janaza (funeral prayer). Tragically, other communities did not step forward to offer assistance, highlighting the need for a dedicated space for Shia Muslims in Stoke-on-Trent.

Determined to ensure that no member of our community ever faces such isolation again, we came together to establish the Jafariyah Community Centre. Today, we stand as a beacon of unity and support, offering a space where Shia Muslims can gather for prayers, religious events, and social engagement.

Our Future Plans

At Jafariyah Community Centre, we are dedicated to serving the Shia Muslim community with compassion and care. One of our most ambitious and meaningful projects is the establishment of a dedicated cemetery for Shia Muslims, ensuring that our loved ones are laid to rest with dignity and in accordance with Islamic traditions. This initiative also includes providing comprehensive funeral services such as ghusal (ritual washing), kafan (shrouding), and salat al-janazah (funeral prayer).

This project is essential to our community as it ensures proper facilities that respect our religious practices and meet the growing needs of the local Shia Muslim population. However, such a monumental endeavor requires significant resources, and we cannot do it without your support.

Free Mental Health Clinic for the Muslim Community

At the Jafariyah Community Centre, we recognize the importance of mental health and the challenges faced by individuals in our community. To support the well-being of our Muslim brothers and sisters, we are proud to announce a Free Mental Health Clinic, open to all members of the community, regardless of background or faith.

This initiative is aimed at providing a safe, supportive space for individuals to seek help, share their concerns, and receive professional guidance on mental health issues. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or simply need someone to talk to, our clinic is here for you.
